AROUND THE GLOBE
Our Friends in Guatemala
Every February, a group from New Life Church travels to Guatemala for ten days to participate in a range of community projects, including construction work, sewing clinics and outreach in the community. Since 2010, teams have constructed a church in the town of Nebaj and currently participate in construction projects at the missionary hospital. Team members have also worked with women in the community through the Threads of Hope project. Threads of Hope continues to be active in the community of Nebaj, with women meeting every Thursday to make quilts, crafts and cook. While in Nebaj, team members go on house visits to build relationships with families in need. Annual trips to Nebaj allow team members to continue their work with the hospital and church, and to build relationships with the community there.
World Renew
World Renew envisions a world where people experience and extend Christ's compassion and live together in hope as God's community. Their work is three-fold: community development, disaster response, and advocacy. For more information on the work of World Renew, visit worldrenew.net.
At New Life, our many programs and ministries offer opportunities to become involved in the community through acts of service. In order to provide a safe and supportive environment, all staff and volunteers go through a Safe Church screening process. If you would like more information regarding any of these programs please contact the church office .
